“Let’s start a brewery

on the farm”

With careers in engineering and business, for a long time we looked set to settle in the city.

But while traveling back from London, to live in Melbourne in 2016, we planned our future. Steph felt a strong connection to home and her fifth generation family farm, while Mike’s passion for brewing beer had evolved into a pipedream to start a brewery. So we started working towards that vision: a farm-based brewery with a strong local focus that brews and serves beer that everyone can enjoy.

The spot we chose for our brewery on the farm was once known as “the little paddock”. This is where a young Steph first learnt to ride a horse and it overlooks Bulla Creek, our namesake.

We spent seven years thinking about it, four years planning it and about eighteen months building it. That time saw us nailing (and failing) recipes, researching, connecting with the industry, plenty of hold-ups ... and tasting a lot of beer.

But now we’re here.
